  • In Canada with a visa or permission.
  • Your application for permanent residency is still pending.
  • Prior to submitting your application for sponsorship, you must be a permanent resident.
  • Your income documentation demonstrates that you do not have sufficient funds to assist the individuals you wish to sponsor.

If you don’t qualify, you might not be able to sponsor your parents and grandparents.

  • Are incarcerated in a jail, prison, or penitentiary
  • Did not reimburse
  • A loan for immigration
  • A bond for performance
  • Child support or alimony payments that have been mandated by the court
  • Formerly failed to provide the financial support you promised to provide when you accepted a sponsorship agreement to sponsor someone else.
  • Filed bankruptcy but haven’t received a discharge
  • Have a need for social assistance other than a disability
  • Were found guilty of a sexual offence, a crime against a relative, or a violent crime both within and outside of Canada.
  • You have a Removal Order, and you must leave Canada since you are unable to do so lawfully.
