How does this program work?

Minimum prerequisites for this program include education, proficiency in a foreign language, and specialized job experience. To qualify, you must fulfill every prerequisite.

Selecting Criteria

If you fulfill all the prerequisites, the application will be evaluated based on: age, education, and employment history or if you have a legitimate employment offer.Language proficiency in either English or French adaptability. The Federal Skilled Worker Program eligibility is determined using a 100-point scoring system that includes these elements. You receive points for your performance in each of the six areas. The current passing score is 67.

Use of selection factor points

Your selection factor points determine your eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Once your profile has been accepted into the Express Entry pool, a separate algorithm is utilized to rank it. By choosing the top individuals from the collection and inviting them to apply for permanent residency.

Skilled work experience

If you have experience in one of the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) job groupings, you are considered professional work experience.

  • Managing positions (skill type 0)
  • Professional classes (skill level A)
  • Skilled crafts and technical employment (skill level B)

You must demonstrate that you carried out the tasks outlined in the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC while working in your principal occupation. This comprises all the necessary tasks and most of the main functions mentioned.The occupation you intend to utilize for your immigration application (referred to as your primary occupation) and the sort of employment you have experience in must be the same (have the same NOC) within the previous ten years.

Labor that was compensated (paid salary or commissions; unpaid internships or voluntary work are not considered) 1,560 hours or at least a year of continuous employment (30 hours per week)

  • 30 hours each week for a year equals one full-time job (1,560 hours)
  • For instance, working 15 hours per week for 24 months equals one year of full-time employment (1,560 hours)
  • You can take on as many part-time jobs as you need to fulfill this criterion.
  • Doing more than one job full-time: 30 hours per week for 12 months at more than one employment equals one full year (1,560 hours)
