Atlantic Immigration Program

It is the second largest country in the world with a land area of 9.98 million square miles.

How to apply for Atlantic Immigration Program?

Atlantic Immigration Program is a federal program to make the successful pilot program of 2017 permanent to offer a visa to skilled labourers in the four Atlantic provinces from 2022. So far, it has helped over 6,000 skilled newcomers to work in Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Labrador. Suitably skilled workers working in the four Atlantic provinces can apply for permanent residence through the program.

AIP or Atlantic Immigration Program is the pathway for international graduates studying in Canadian institutions or skilled foreign workers from any country to work and live in the four Atlantic states. They only need a job offer from a government-designated employer in Canada to get a visa rather than the traditional LMIA or labour market impact assessment. Hence any skilled person in many industrial verticals interested in seeking better career opportunities in Canada can complete CanadaVisa’s free assessment form to know the eligibility.

How do AIP works?

AIP is an employer-driven federal program to facilitate hiring foreign nationals arriving in Canada with job offers from designated employers. Also, they should devise an individualized settlement plan for their family. As soon as a designated employer finds a suitable candidate fulfilling the AIP criteria and the employment needs should offer the job with no need to obtain the LMIA or Labour Market Impact Assessment.

After the candidate accepts the job offer, the designated employers will connect the settlement service provider organization with the candidate to assess the needs and for developing a settlement plan. The employer will support the new immigrant to Canada to have a settlement plan for themselves and their family. Employers need to have a temporary work permit to fill vacancies to enable the candidate quickly and their families to come to Canada fast. But the candidate to use the temporary work permit should have the following.

  • – A valid job offer from the designated employers
  • – Province letter of admission
  • – Commitment to applying for the permanent visa within 90 days from the date of the temporary work permit
