Apply for citizenship in Canada
Being a Canadian citizen has several advantages, including living permanently in one of the wealthiest nations in the world, taking part in the democracy there, and having one of the strongest passports available.
Each year, Canada hopes to accept more than 430,000 new permanent immigrants. The majority of these immigrants will proudly join Canada’s population. They take loyalty oaths after the procedure, affirming their dedication to the obligations and rights of Canadian citizenship.
A permanent resident may apply for Canadian citizenship after living in the country for three years (1,095 days) out of the five years immediately preceding the application, according to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
However, in extreme cases, an applicant can be permitted to apply despite not having the necessary 1,095 days of actual residence in Canada. Children under 18 are exempt from the 1,095-day requirement to be physically present in Canada.
